The Humble Beginning
Having first started on YouTube as a 3D animations channel in January 2016, VT Animations, as we had originally been called, started off catering to a younger audience. But changes were necessary when the type of content produced weren't given the same amount of love as the newer content you see on the channel now. VT Animations was soon re-branded as VT Productions in later 2016, widening the prospects of future content.
A Test Production - The Omega Trilogy
A plan that had been in the making for over 8 years at the time, we started work on our first Doctor Who production. The Omega Trilogy. This production would bring about the return of an infamous Doctor Who villain, the Time Lord Omega, the one responsible for the Time Lords ability of time travel. The production of the first episode was smooth, but unfortunately the other two episodes had been delayed, and after many arguments and in-fighting in the team, production was eventually cancelled, with only the first episode being released. This production would later be sold on to VT Production's partner company, Rogue Production.
The First 'Full Scale' Production
Now that a brand was successfully planned out, we started work on our first production. The first series of our Doctor Who Fan Series. Plans were made and multiple scripts were written, and eventually, we were ready. Bumps and turns soon headed our way, but we were ready for them. Unfortunately, in the end, the finished product was something we as a team were not happy with. We went forward with the upload either way, with our heads low. But series 2 was bound to be an improvement.
Delays and Remakes
Unfortunately for us, series 2 proved just as difficult to produce. With the team needing an expansion and an improved budget, but neither of these turning up, Series 2 needed to continuously be delayed. Summer 2019 eventually rolled around, and an idea struck us while we made series 2 prep. Whilst we couldn't produce series 2 with what team we had scattered across the UK, we would completely remake our original series with improved prop work, set design, visual effects and the original cast. We went ahead with it and were ready to go within two weeks. The work took the entire summer, but in collaboration with Rogue Productions, we were able to finish the series 1 remake.
A Look in on Sketch Comedy
Having partnered with another producer, Razor Sharp Sarcasm (RSS), VT Productions was ready to start a new road, now following suit in the sketch comedy world. Many scripts have been planned and prepped to be written into scripts, and alongside RSS, a wider range of both absurdist and story driven sketches are ready to be produced in the next few months.
December 2019 - A New Decade on the Horizon
With a new decade ready to roll in, VT Productions is preparing for another re-brand. As of 2016, the company had been called Vincent Thomas Productions, but the slight egocentric name needed to be changed. the company will soon go under the title 'Visual Tech Productions', but still keep the shortened version of VT Productions. As of writing this segment, a new 3-D animated logo is in the design phases, with the re-brand hopefully taking full effect on the 24th of January, 2020. Ready for the full release of our rebooted first Doctor Who series, and welcoming a whole new decade, new works and new opportunities. this re-brand will hopefully feel far more inclusive than the original name, making the team behind VT Productions more comfortable working under the company.
Covid-19
A new decade had started. Plans were made and things were ready to go, but with the Covid-19 pandemic suddenly halting all production, it turned out to be a very quiet year for the company, with only one sketch eventually being produced and uploaded to the channel. With this in mind, it is currently January 2021. With the roll out of a vaccine coming along soon, the team hope to go full swing on all productions that had been unfortunately delayed for the year, including the second series of our Doctor Who production.
